About The Artist

From the editor:

Rebecca's childhood experience visiting her father's old dairy farm in upstate New York has no doubt been a major inspiration in her work, including her recent series Quirky Colorful Farm Fun. In this series, Rebecca brings out the personalities of individual farm animals in an animated, illustrative fashion. Also included is a cardinal, an ode to her late mother who took her life in 1972. Rebecca primarily paints in oil, but also works in oil pastel. Animal portraits are a recurring theme, and her approach to this subject is a unique statement for an artist coming into her own. Despite life's hardships, Rebecca has found a whimsical and uplifting perspective to painting.
